Welcome. ScotMesh runs the Reticulum backbone for Scotland and writes this wiki; you are very welcome to use both, and to add to either. Whether you have never heard of Reticulum or you want to put a solar relay on a hill, there is a page here for you. Pick where you are:
I just want to try it
Install one app, type in one address, and you are on the network with everyone else: messaging, chat, files and pages.

I want to understand it first
No addresses to configure, no accounts, no company in the middle. Reticulum is unusual, and it is worth knowing why.

I want to put a radio on air
A LoRa board becomes a Reticulum radio for your laptop or phone, or a self-contained relay you can look after from home.
Then ScotMesh firmware for solar and hilltop relays, and Antennas and siting for making it reach.
The backbone right now
Live from the node itself, the same feed as rns.scotmesh.net, refreshed every two minutes. If the strip is blank or says unknown, treat the backbone as unconfirmed and check the node page directly.
Connect now
The backbone is a public Reticulum transport node in Dalgety Bay, Fife. Anyone may connect, there is nothing to register, and it costs nothing.
Out of the box: install MeshChatX (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android), Sideband (Android, Windows, macOS, Linux) or an iPhone app, add a connection of type TCPClientInterface with host rns.scotmesh.net and port 4242, and you are on. Step by step.

Whichever way in you chose: restart Reticulum, then check the interface shows Up (in rnstatus, or on the app's interfaces page). If it does not, Troubleshooting lists the usual causes.

The node peers outward to rebelnet.uk, rns.cybercore.uk and rmap.world, so a client connected here can reach the rest of the public Reticulum network. See Who we peer with.
