ScotMesh Wiki:Privacy policy

From ScotMesh Wiki

This wiki keeps as little about its readers as it can.

  • Reading: no account is needed and no cookies are set beyond those MediaWiki uses for the page display preferences you choose (such as light or dark mode), which stay in your browser. The web server keeps ordinary access logs (address, page, time) for a short period for fault-finding, and nothing else.
  • Editing: editors have an account. Your username and the time of each change are shown publicly in the page history; that is how a wiki works. An email address is optional and is only used for password resets if you give one.
  • The live status strip on the home page loads from rns.scotmesh.net, another ScotMesh site with the same practice.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no third-party scripts. The only external resources are those you follow by choosing a link.

The wiki is hosted in the United Kingdom. Questions about any of this go to the ScotMesh Discord or the forum at scotmesh.uk.
